In order to make Pilates lessons more fun, but also to bring more variety and richness to the matwork, what could be better than the small equipment? If the Pilates philosophy fits so well with small equipment, it is because the great diversity of accessories accentuates the work of concentration, centering and sheathing. In fact, Joseph Pilates himself had developed a range of small equipment aimed at better integrating the exercises with the mat. These equipments enhance basic postures and are as many auxiliaries to promote stability and muscle strengthening through subtle games of weight transfer. In summary, these tools highlight the importance of the center of gravity and increase control and precision.

GETTING BETTER ON THE CHALLENGES OF PILATES MATERIAL

Thanks to the Pilates Small Equipment training, you will be better able to understand the interest of accessories dedicated to Pilates and the connection points between the equipment and working on the mat. The small instruments will therefore be integrated into a global sequence in order to ultimately create a fluid and playful choreography. During this training, you will learn how to optimize the use of traditional equipment (Swiss ball, foam roller, disc …) but also more innovative and specific equipment. The objective is to systematically put the fundamental principles of Pilates (movement control, concentration, fluidity, centering, stability …) into perspective with the equipment used and thus provide an appropriate educational response to your students.

A large place is given at TF Formation to the Pilates discipline. Two other training courses exist (Pilates and Pilates Pregnant Women and Seniors) which replace this fundamental discipline of well-being at the heart of a choreographed course and rhythmic relevance. This concept was implemented to avoid the partitioning of figures and postures. By means of this coherent and harmonious arrangement, you will be able to offer a stimulating course to your students and additional mnemonic means which will lead to a real awareness of the body.

What led you to specialize in Pilates ?

I discovered Pilates at the time when this method was very popular in the early 2000s in France. Being hyperactive, I needed a physical activity that refocuses and soothes me.

What is the state of mind that reigns during the Pilates training dedicated to coaches ?

I’m looking for a balance between thoroughness and relaxation. Pilates requires a lot of concentration, but it is also a learning process that can be done in a good mood. The idea is to put the participants in confidence so that the training is a moment of reconciliation.

It’s time to end “Pilates is for women”, what do you think ?

Definitely! Half of my audience is made up of men, who understand the benefits of Pilates and in particular the work on the deep muscles. Bodybuilding enthusiasts also know that Pilates gives a real advantage on muscle tracing. Beyond that, Pilates is a real discipline of the mind and breathing that has nothing to do with a question of sexual gender.
